How to play
Everyone gets the same question on the big screen and answers on their phone. A game is 5 or 9 innings, with a stretch partway through and double points in the last inning.
1 Guess a range
Every answer is a number. The question is on the big screen; drag both ends of the slider on your phone to cover where you think the answer is. Use the − + buttons to fine-tune, or tap a number to type it, then Swing!
- Narrow is bold. An exact guess (18 to 18) earns the most, and it's a HOME RUN.
- Wide is safe. A wide range earns less, but it's more likely to be right.
- Misses cost half of what your range was worth. The Worth / Risk boxes show you exactly how much.
2 Watch the reveal
Everyone's ranges appear on the big screen, then the answer drops in. Your phone won't spoil it: your points show up once the scoreboard does.
3 The stretch
Put four events in order, earliest at the top. Drag the cards or use the arrows. 250 points for each one in the right spot, plus 500 for a perfect order. No penalties!
4 The last inning
The big screen shows two facts, either two events or two counts. You make one pick: the number exactly halfway between their answers. Points are doubled.
- Dead center: +2,000
- Right on one of the two answers: +200
- Outside them: −200, growing to −1,000 the farther out you are
Tips
- When everyone has swung, the inning ends early.
- If you forget to swing, whatever you last set still counts when time runs out.
- Always take a swing. If you never set a guess at all, it's a strikeout: the biggest penalty that inning has (−500, or −1,000 in the last inning).
- Hot streak: from your third hit in a row, every hit earns +50 and your name gets a flame on the big screen.
- Pinch hitter: in the inning before the last, anyone with less than half the leader's score has their hits scored 1.5×.
- Phone went to sleep? Just open the page again. You keep your spot in the lineup and your score.
